In all our relationships there is bias. Some of it we are conscious of and some biases are only revealed when our bias collides with another’s. Whatever your race or ethnicity, you can learn to interrupt the impulse to act and consider the complexity of identity at play. In other words, the more distinctions you can make about your client, the more you will breakdown the unconscious biases at play. Knowing your biases and how they might show up is a key to building trust- your most important skill in the coaching relationship.

Please join us virtually at our March chapter meeting for a presentation by our very own, Jen Shannon, about The Cycle of Renewal.

There are three primary life crises in adulthood. A crisis is a normal part of life and is necessary for growth and fulfillment. Jen shares a tool called the Cycle of Renewal, that helps normalize themes experienced by most but are commonly left unexplored or understood, ultimately leaving potential on the table. By identifying and appreciating their current position in the change cycle, robust plans and purpose emerge that support the individual, team, and organization.

Participants will develop a full understanding of the Cycle of Renewal. Once they have experienced the Cycle themselves, they will be able to use it with clients to work through transitions and create a path forward.

About Jen Shannon:
Jen is a Certified Professional Coach through the Hudson Institute of Coaching. She coaches on a variety of issues in a broad spectrum of industries. Still, no matter what the business is, she is a collaborative partner that helps people accomplish their goals or navigate transitions. Jen has had the privilege of presenting the Cycle of Renewal to several groups including the Sweat Society and The Invoking your Most Resourceful Self series, an online self discovery series.
